Welcome to the Lake Padden Men’s Club!

LPMC is one of the largest and most active clubs in Washington State. It was founded shortly after the beginning of Lake Padden Golf Course in the early 1970’s. Membership is open to male golfers over the age of 18 who have a valid GHIN handicap or wish to establish one. We pride ourselves in maintaining a high level of respect for the game while having fun competing.

Each year, we feature a full schedule of tournaments that challenge all levels of ability and skill. Our membership dues are reasonable ($55) and we encourage other club members to join as associates ($30) as well. You can either sign up on-line at our website or fill out a card at the Lake Padden Pro Shop. With full membership to LPMC you receive GHIN handicap service and eligibility to enter each of our tournaments (see the full slate of events on our website) or twi-lite leagues. Our twi-Lite leagues feature 14 teams on both Wednesday and Thursday nights, while our Saturday tournaments (roughly every other weekend) often include over 100 players in the major events. All of our events, money leaders, current news and announcements are posted on the Lake Padden Men’s Club website.

The Men’s Club is run annually by an elected board of fellow golfers who donate their time and energy to create and run tournaments and leagues fairly and competitively. We encourage each member to feel free to voice opinions and comments as the year progresses. We hold our board meeting the first Tuesday each month and are always open to the membership to attend.

We are very fortunate to be able to play on one of the best public courses in State and lower British Columbia. The golf course is under a new management agreement with the City of Bellingham, giving them more control over the everyday functions and maintenance of the property. It’s clear that the efforts of Mel, Barry, Greg and Scotty have shown immediate improvements to the quality of the course and overall golfing experience. Their efforts are much appreciated and have the full support of our membership. We encourage each member to "pass the word" and tell their friends and family about this wonderful venue in Whatcom County. It’s truly a privilege to be able to play on this golf course.

If there are any questions about the Club or our tournaments, feel free to email me direct at duffer33@comcast.net. I’ll be more than happy to answer any and all questions. Thanks and hope to see you very soon on the course.

Steve Swank, 2009 President and Tourney Co-Chair
